Cos Cob, CT is a historic village in the southwestern part of Greenwich, Connecticut, with a strong history dating back to 1640. It was once named Cocke's Cove, after Richard Cocke, who moved to Connecticut from Northampton, Massachusetts, in 1640 and became one of the founding settlers of Greenwich. He was granted land in the area called Cos Cob, which was then known as Coginchaug; it was also referred to as Dick's Neck around the time of the American Revolution in 1776.
